Speaking of excommunication, did you read today that Pope Benedict XVI excommunicated the Chinese bishop installed by the Communists there? I say good on him. If a Pope can't wield his power now and then, what's the good of carrying that staff around? As for your commentator on why the church opposes gay marriage, he's funny but incorrect.
